Rumiverse
was conceived from my deep love for Jalal al-Din Rumi, 13th century
Sufi mystic poet. It is a growing collection of English
translations of his work, submitted by translators and other
sources. Rumiverse was officially launched on September 30th,
2007, on the 800th anniversary of Rumi's birthday. It is my
fervent desire that Rumiverse become a community of Lovers and Friends,
where Sufis and other Muslims can interact with non-Muslims in an
atmosphere of divine love and respect. Rumiverse is not just
a place where people go to read Rumi's work - it is a living, breathing
environment of transformation and transcendance, and exists for and
because of you. May your questions be answered by Mawlana's
message.
Abdullah bin John

(to Mawlana,
with Love)
So many of your words dance through my head
that I'm not sure who's speaking sometimes,
and this is a wonderful place to be,
this silent whispering between Friends,
where symbols do not matter,
and there is room for only one.
This is where the enormity of Allah's grace is glimpsed,
when words utterly fail,
and all that exists is wonder and awe
at the tiniest of things,
the Beloved's secret dwelling-place
touching all simultaneously.
The heart knows, this "organ of fire",
it knows only to burn,
baring Soul to Itself.
You say, "Silence now! Listen keenly to the
incessant beat of Love's drum,
synchronized with all,
so you may know how low the ashes must get
before you can slip into the Garden".
